album review: Reckless and Relentless, Asking Alexandria

Asking Alexandria's new album is set to come out April 5th, 2011. Reckless and Relentless was recorded during the summer and Autumn of 2010 at the Foundation Recording Studios located in Connersville, Indiana. The first official confirmation of the sophomore full-length was on December 22, 2009, wherein Asking Alexandria announced that they were to start the works on a second album in January. They informed that they were to be streaming parts of the writing process through a webcam feed via the service Stickam. It was also announced that they will be entering the studio on September 1, again with producer Joey Sturgis, who produced the band's debut album Stand Up and Scream. The band later announced that they will be able to get into the studio June 22, 2010 on their official twitter. Asking Alexandria has, as well, confirmed through an interview with Shred News that the album is scheduled for release on April, 5th 2011 and is planned to contain 12 new songs. In the same interview, the band informed that a title was not yet established. One song, "Breathless" was played live to promote the album, and was released with their Life Gone Wild EP. Worsnop has also released lyrics from the album. The song "Someone, Somewhere" has been leaked on to various music download sites and has been uploaded on YouTube, on Feb. 4th 2011. Asking Alexandria will be releasing the first official single from the album, titled "Morte Et Dabo" on February 15th. This was confirmed by them on their twitter. From and interview with Danny from the band,
TMR: The new album is “Reckless and Relentless”.  What can the fans expect in terms of the experimentation?  Is that going to progress?
Danny: We’ve tried to stretch out what we can do and try and do some things that bands in our music don’t really try anymore.  Like we’ve got a lot of old rock-and-roll influences.  I’m a big ‘80’s hair metal fan so we incorporate some of that.  We’ve got some guitar solos.  We’ve figured out what notes do.  It’s not just breakdowns anymore.
TMR: Oh wow.  It’s not just breakdowns and syncopation –
Danny: Yeah.  We’ve really tried to push ourselves.

I think this is going to be a great album, im going to see them on their upcoming tour promoting this album. so when April rolls around be sure to grab this album on itunes!
